Description:

The 1850 Syrah 2021 from Eric Gelly in the Côtes de Thongue IGP is a wine with a deep ruby-red colour and purple reflections. On the nose, intense aromas of ripe blueberries, black cherries and plums come to the fore, combined with refined spicy notes of black pepper, bay leaf and a touch of thyme. On the first sip the wine reveals its full body and soft tannins. Flavours of juicy dark fruit are perfectly balanced by a fresh acidity and a subtle earthy undertone. The spices add complexity, while the wine remains supple and approachable. The finish is long and refined, with a fine balance between fruity and spicy notes that slowly fade.

Food pairing:

Delicious with grilled red meat, lamb with rosemary, or a stew with spicy accents.
