Legaris Reserva 2014 is a magnificent expression of Tempranillo from Ribera del Duero, made from carefully selected grapes from high-altitude vineyards. Long ageing in French oak barrels contributes to the deep complexity and refinement of this wine. The colour is deep ruby red with slight evolution at the rim. The nose is rich and layered, with intense aromas of ripe blackberries, black cherries and plums, combined with notes of cedar, tobacco and a touch of spice such as black pepper and liquorice. Subtle hints of vanilla and cocoa add extra depth. On the palate, the wine has a powerful structure with silky tannins and a superb balance between fruit and oak. The flavour is full and intense, with nuances of ripe black fruit, roasted coffee and spice. The lively acidity contributes to freshness and elegance, while the long, complex finish leaves a mix of mineral and spicy notes.
Delicious with grilled red meat, lamb, game dishes and robust cheeses.
