The Château d'Issan 2018 has a deep ruby colour with purple reflections. On the nose the wine opens with aromas of blackcurrants, cassis and plums, complemented by violets and cedarwood. After some time in the glass, subtle notes of dark chocolate, clove and tobacco develop. On the palate the wine offers a silky structure with a core of dark fruit and floral nuances, supported by well-integrated oak. The fine tannins and lively acidity give the wine elegance and depth. The finish is long and layered, with lingering notes of ripe fruit, spice and a delicate minerality that contributes to the wine's ageing potential.

Château d'Issan is a historic estate in Margaux and a Third Growth (3e Grand Cru Classé) in the 1855 classification. The château has a rich history dating back to the 12th century, and its wines were already renowned for their exceptional quality in the time of Louis XIV. The vineyards cover 59 hectares on the classic gravel and clay soils of Margaux, ideal for ripening Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Château d'Issan combines traditional viticultural techniques with modern precision, resulting in wines characterised by elegance, finesse and ageing potential. Fermentation takes place in concrete and stainless steel tanks, followed by 18 months of ageing in French oak barrels, 50% of them new. This allows the oak influence to integrate subtly without overpowering the fruit. With its refined structure and timeless elegance, Château d'Issan remains one of the most sought-after wines from Margaux.
