The Kettmeir Pinot Nero 2023 is a splendid expression of the noble Pinot Noir grape, grown on the cool, high-altitude slopes of Alto Adige. This terroir contributes to the finesse and depth of the wine. The wine has a bright ruby-red colour with light garnet hues at the rim. On the nose it offers an inviting aromatic profile with notes of ripe red cherries, raspberries and violets. Subtle spices such as cinnamon and a light hint of toasted oak add extra complexity. On the palate the wine is refined and well balanced. The fresh acidity supports the fruity notes, while the silky tannins provide structure and depth. A short period of oak ageing brings out delicate oak notes and a light smokiness, without overpowering the fruit. The finish is long and elegant, with a mineral touch and a subtle hint of herbs that add extra complexity.
Delicious with grilled poultry, veal, mushroom risotto or aged cheeses. Also an excellent choice with truffle dishes.
