Description:

Viña Pomal Reserva 2017 from Bodegas Bilbaínas is a beautiful red wine from the prestigious Rioja region, made from 100% Tempranillo. The wine was aged for 18 months in American and French oak barrels, followed by at least two years in bottle. This process gives the wine exceptional complexity and elegance. When poured, the wine reveals an intense cherry-red colour with a garnet rim. On the nose, aromas of ripe red fruit such as cherries and blackberries come forward, combined with subtle hints of vanilla, cocoa and sweet spice. On the palate, the wine offers a rich structure, with a well-judged balance between fruity freshness and the toasty and spicy nuances of the oak ageing. The tannins are silky, and the finish is long and refined, with a touch of balsamic and tobacco. This wine pairs perfectly with roast meat, lamb dishes or mature cheeses. It is also an excellent choice to enjoy on its own as a premium wine experience.

Food pairing:

Ideal with roast meat, lamb dishes and mature cheeses.
