This Chardonnay takes its name from the morning fog that rolls in from San Francisco Bay into the Livermore Valley, creating a cooler microclimate and slower ripening of the grapes. The wine opens with lively aromas of citrus, green apple and melon, supported by subtle hints of toasted oak and vanilla from partial ageing in oak barrels. On the palate the wine offers a creamy texture with flavours of pear, nectarine and a touch of tropical fruit, balanced by refreshing acidity and a mineral undertone. The finish is long and invigorating, with a harmonious integration of fruity and oaky elements.
This wine pairs excellently with grilled prawns, creamy pasta dishes, roast chicken or salmon with a butter sauce. Also delicious as an aperitif.
