Viña Zaco 2018 is a special expression of Rioja, from an officially recognised Viñedo Singular — a specific vineyard with an exceptional terroir and limited production. In the glass, this wine shows a deep ruby-red colour with light purple tints at the rim. The nose is refined and complex, with aromas of ripe cherries, raspberries and plums, complemented by notes of vanilla, cedar and a touch of tobacco from ageing in oak. On the palate, Viña Zaco is full and round, with a silky structure and perfectly integrated tannins. The Tempranillo grape gives the wine its characteristic balance between ripe fruit and spice. Subtle hints of bay leaf, cinnamon and cocoa add extra depth. The finish is long, harmonious and elegant, with a refreshing touch that invites the next sip. The careful selection of grapes and the artisanal winemaking mean that this wine is not only beautifully drinkable now, but also has excellent ageing potential.
Excellent with rack of lamb, roast duck, Ibérico pork or beef-based stews. Also delicious with mature Manchego.
