This Pinotage comes from Swartland, a region known for its old vineyards. The grapes are carefully selected and the wine is aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, 20% of them new. This process adds complexity to the wine. In the glass it shows a deep scarlet colour. The nose is marked by aromas of black fruit such as plums and blackberries, complemented by notes of black pepper, coffee and chocolate. The palate is full and structured, with a velvety texture and a long finish.
This wine pairs beautifully with dishes such as pepper steak, grilled meat and mature cheddar.
