Description:

La Firma 2014 is a true expression of the volcanic terroir of the Vulture area in Basilicata. This wine is made from 100% Aglianico, a grape known for its deep colour, powerful tannins and excellent ageing potential. The wine has a deep ruby-red colour with garnet glints that reflect its development. The nose is intense and complex, with a rich combination of ripe black cherries, plums and blackberries, interwoven with notes of tobacco, cocoa, leather and spices such as black pepper and clove. Hints of violets and balsamic add extra finesse. On the palate La Firma is full and structured, with ripe tannins beautifully integrated through long ageing in wood. The palate offers a harmonious interplay of fruit, herbs and earthy notes, with a subtle minerality reminiscent of the region’s volcanic character. The finish is long and elegant, with notes of dark chocolate and a light smokiness. Thanks to its structure and complexity, this wine is well suited to further ageing, during which it will continue to develop.

Food pairing:

Perfect with game dishes, lamb, stews and mature cheeses. Also delicious with truffle dishes and grilled red meat dishes.
