Description:

The Ciceron Albariño 2024 is a surprisingly expressive white wine from the sun-drenched Languedoc, in which the freshness of the Atlantic grape Albariño is perfectly combined with the warm Mediterranean terroir. In the glass it shines with a pale yellow colour and green reflections. The nose is lively and pure, with aromas of lime, grapefruit, white blossom and peach, complemented by a subtle saline undertone reminiscent of wet stones and a sea breeze. On tasting, the tension in the wine is immediately apparent: it is taut and fresh, yet full on the palate. The acidity is bright and refreshing, and brings the citrus fruit nicely to the fore without being aggressive. Here the Albariño shows its mineral side, with fine bitters and a lightly saline touch that give the wine a gastronomic character. The finish is pure and energetic, with a touch of green apple and a light spiciness that invites another sip. This French Albariño is a fascinating combination of pure varietal expression and terroir influence, and offers a beautiful alternative to the better-known Spanish versions from Rías Baixas.

Food pairing:

Delicious with shellfish such as oysters or mussels, grilled sea bass or ceviche. Also very good with sushi or a fresh salad with goat’s cheese and citrus.
