Description:

Sancerre Blanc 2024 from Domaine Bonnard is a pure Sauvignon Blanc from the heart of the appellation. Grapes from different soils are fermented separately at low temperature and then blended, after which the wine matures on its fine lees. In the glass the wine shows a pale gold colour. The nose is fresh and inviting, with white flowers, citrus and a light mineral touch.

On the palate the wine is lively and dry, with juicy notes of pear and citrus and a fresh, taut acidity that gives it tension. Ageing on the lees gives a soft, round texture. The finish is long and pure. This Sancerre is at its best within a few years, when the fruit and freshness show to full advantage; do not serve it too cold, so the aromas can fully express themselves.

Food pairing:

Delicious with fish and seafood, chicken or veal in a creamy sauce, and with goat's cheese such as Crottin de Chavignol or other characterful cheeses.
