The wine has a bright golden yellow colour with a brilliant sheen, typical of a ripe, barrel-aged Chardonnay. The aromatic profile is expressive and intense, with notes of ripe tropical fruit such as pineapple, peach and mango. These are complemented by subtle accents of vanilla, butter and toasted almonds from ageing in oak barrels. On the palate the wine is full and creamy, with a rich texture and a fine balance between the fruity notes and the elegant use of oak. The fresh acidity gives a pleasant liveliness and keeps the wine from becoming too heavy. Flavours of ripe pear, baked apple, caramel and a hint of spicy nutmeg come together in a harmonious structure. The finish is long and layered, with lingering notes of butter, vanilla and a light minerality.
Excellent with grilled lobster, seared scallops, creamy truffle pasta or poultry in a rich butter sauce.
