This tawny port is a warm amber colour with a light mahogany sheen, the result of ageing in wooden casks. The aroma is complex and layered, with notes of dried fruit such as figs and raisins, complemented by nutty nuances of walnuts and almonds. There are also subtle hints of caramel, vanilla and a touch of cinnamon. On the palate the wine is silky smooth and well balanced. The combination of ripe fruit and delicate oak notes gives it a refined complexity. The soft tannins and light spiciness make the flavour all the more interesting. The finish is long and elegant, with warm notes of roasted nuts, honey and a subtle sweetness that remains beautifully balanced.
Perfect with nut tart, crème brûlée, dried fruit and soft cheeses such as Brie or Camembert. Also delicious as a digestif.
