Legaris Moradillo de Roa 2019 is an outstanding expression of Ribera del Duero, sourced from a single vineyard at more than 900 metres above sea level. These extreme conditions, combined with poor, limestone-rich soils, give a wine of great concentration and complexity. The wine has a deep, dark red colour with purple highlights. The nose is intense and layered, with aromas of ripe black fruit such as blackberries and plums, supported by subtle notes of cedar, tobacco and spicy hints of black pepper and liquorice. There is a characteristic mineral undertone that reinforces the expression of the terroir. On the palate, the wine shows a firm structure with well-integrated tannins and lively acidity. The flavour is full and concentrated, with nuances of ripe fruit, cocoa and toasted oak. The long, elegant finish leaves a balanced mix of fruit and spicy complexity.
Perfect with grilled red meat, lamb, game dishes and aged cheeses.
Legaris is a modern and forward-thinking winery within the prestigious Ribera del Duero region. The winery combines innovation with respect for tradition to produce wines that show both the power and the finesse of Tempranillo. Moradillo de Roa is part of their “Vinos de Pueblo” project, in which wines from different villages are produced separately to bring out the unique characteristics of each terroir. The high-altitude vineyard in Moradillo de Roa yields grapes with intense aromas and a refined structure. Thanks to careful winemaking and ageing in French oak barrels, this wine offers a sublime combination of depth, elegance and complexity.
