Nectar Impérial is the demi-sec from Moët & Chandon, presented here in a gift box: a rich, fruity Champagne with a generous dosage of 45 grams per litre. The blend consists of 40 to 50% Pinot Noir for structure, 30 to 40% Meunier for body and 10 to 20% Chardonnay for freshness. In the glass the Champagne shows a deep gold colour with golden glints. The nose opens with tropical notes of pineapple and mango, followed by stone fruits such as mirabelle and apricot and a light touch of vanilla.
On the palate Nectar Impérial is full and soft, with a dense weave of tropical fruit such as pineapple and passion fruit, followed by firm, silky stone fruit. Despite its sweetness the wine stays lively thanks to its fine mousse. The finish is surprisingly fresh, with an invigorating touch of grapefruit. An inviting Champagne for those who enjoy a rounder, sweeter style.
Excellent with pan-fried foie gras with mango or apricot, spicy Thai or Mexican dishes, blue cheese, and fruit desserts with white chocolate or coconut.
