Description:

The Soave Superiore 2022 Cassette Foscarin SLAVINUS is a refined white wine that beautifully expresses the elegance of the Garganega grape. In the glass the wine shines with a bright straw-yellow colour with a subtle golden sheen. The bouquet opens with refined aromas of white fruit such as pear and apple, complemented by notes of citrus fruit and blossom. The nose gains extra depth from mineral accents and a hint of toasted almonds, typical of Monte Tondo’s terroir-driven style. On the palate this Soave offers a perfect balance between freshness and structure. The taste is rich and concentrated, with notes of ripe fruit, delicate spices and a light creaminess. The minerality of the volcanic soil comes clearly to the fore and creates a lively tension in the wine. The finish is long and refined, with a lingering hint of almonds and citrus.

Food pairing:

Excellent with seafood dishes, such as grilled scallops, shellfish risotto, or pan-fried fish. Also a perfect match with soft cheeses or light vegetarian dishes.

Winery:

Monte Tondo is a renowned family business based in the heart of the Veneto region, surrounded by the picturesque vineyards of Soave and Valpolicella. The winery has a long tradition spanning three generations and is dedicated to making wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region. The family focuses on sustainable viticulture and works with the utmost care to guarantee the highest quality. The Amarone is made using the traditional appassimento method, in which the grapes are dried on special racks after the harvest. This process concentrates the flavours and gives the wine its characteristic intensity and complexity. The Monte Tondo vineyards are located on some of the best plots in the region, characterised by chalk-rich soils and an ideal microclimate. This terroir, combined with traditional craftsmanship and modern technology, results in wines that perfectly capture the essence of Valpolicella. The Amarone della Valpolicella is a highlight of their range, a wine that combines finesse, richness and elegance and is proof of their dedication to quality.
