Monte dei Cocci Negroamaro 2024 from Tenute Girolamo is a 100% Negroamaro from the Valle d'Itria. The grapes grow at 450 metres above sea level, on limestone mixed with red earth. In the glass the wine shows a ruby-red colour with garnet reflections. The nose is full and powerful, with candied orange peel, mandarin, plum, pepper and cinnamon. Floral notes and a balsamic touch of rosemary and thyme complete the picture.
After gentle maceration and fermentation in steel, the wine matures for six months in French barriques and three months in bottle. On the palate the elegant tannic structure stands out: silky and velvety, in balance with the soft, round richness of fruit. The Mediterranean spice returns on the palate. The finish is warm and persistent.
Delicious with succulent meat dishes such as braised lamb or braciole, and with flavourful pasta with ragù.
