Description:

The Andresen 10 Years Old White Port is a beautiful expression of white port, aged for ten years in oak casks. This gives it great depth and complexity and a refined balance between sweetness and freshness. The wine has a warm golden-yellow colour with amber reflections. The nose reveals rich aromas of dried apricot, honey, orange peel and toasted almonds, with subtle hints of vanilla and caramel from the oak ageing. On the palate the wine is creamy and layered, with an elegant sweetness carried by fresh acidity. Flavours of ripe stone fruit, figs and walnuts develop further into notes of spice and toffee. The finish is long and refined, with a perfect balance between sweetness and freshness.

Food pairing:

Delicious with foie gras, blue cheese, crème brûlée or nut tart. Also perfect as a digestif.

Winery:

J.H. Andresen is one of the last independent and traditional port producers in Portugal. Founded in 1845, the house has a rich history of craftsmanship and dedication to quality. While many port producers have lost their independence, Andresen has always held on to its own vision and traditions. The grapes are grown in the prestigious Douro region, known for its steep terraces and unique terroir. Andresen specialises in Colheita and Tawny ports, with an emphasis on long ageing in oak casks. The Colheita Port 2009 is a textbook example of Andresen's craftsmanship. This single-vintage port is made from grapes harvested in 2009 and then aged for more than ten years in cask. The result is a port that is rich, complex and elegant, and that perfectly reflects the heritage of Andresen.
