Beverocco from CasalFarneto is a Rosso Piceno from the hills of the Marche, made from roughly two thirds Montepulciano and one third Sangiovese. The wine has a deep ruby-red colour. The nose is pure and inviting, with aromas of plum, blueberry and black cherry, followed by violets, blackberry and raspberry.
On the palate the wine is juicy and well balanced, with soft yet clearly present tannins and good body. Because the wine matures only in stainless steel tanks and sees no oak, the fruit stays bright and direct. The Montepulciano provides colour and firmness, the Sangiovese freshness and a lightly spicy touch. The finish is pleasantly long and returns to plum and dark cherries. An approachable, honest everyday red.
Delicious with pasta in tomato sauce with sausage, pasta with meat and mushrooms, pan-fried meat or semi-hard cheese.
