The Grand Vintage Rosé from Moët & Chandon is a vintage Champagne made only in exceptional years, offered here in a gift box. The blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Meunier gets its colour from a portion of red wine made from Pinot Noir. In the glass the Champagne shows a radiant pink hue. The nose is distinctly fruity, with ripe strawberries, raspberries and redcurrants, followed by floral notes of rose and hibiscus and subtle hints of gingerbread and cocoa.
The wine matures for several years in the chalk cellars of Épernay and is given a low, extra-brut-style dosage, putting fruit and terroir centre stage. On the palate the Champagne is supple, tender and harmonious, with a fine mousse and juicy red fruit. The structure is refined, with a slightly grippy, airy and delicate finish. A gastronomic rosé that shows how the character of a single year translates into Champagne.
Superb with duck breast and red fruit, tuna tataki, veal carpaccio or desserts with strawberries and raspberries.
