Moët & Chandon “Chalk” 2015 Brut is a limited-edition cuvée that celebrates the unique chalk soils of the Champagne region. This vintage Champagne is made exclusively from grapes from the exceptionally ripe 2015 vintage, sourced from selected Premier and Grand Cru vineyards. In the glass it shows a lively golden-yellow colour with a fine, persistent mousse. The nose opens with elegant aromas of citrus, white flowers and brioche, followed by hints of peach, almond and subtle toasty notes. On the palate the wine is refined and full, with a creamy mousse and a perfect balance between ripe fruit and fresh acidity. The chalky minerality lends tension and length, while notes of baked apple, hazelnut and citrus linger in the long finish. This vintage displays the signature Moët style: generous, elegant and refined, but with extra depth and structure thanks to the ageing and the unique terroir at the heart of the “Chalk” edition.
This Champagne is an excellent match for refined dishes such as sole with butter sauce, scallops, caviar or sashimi. Poultry in creamy sauces and elegant cheeses such as Comté or Brie de Meaux also pair perfectly with the minerality and freshness of this vintage cuvée.
