Bollinger La Grande Année 2014 is a masterpiece from an exceptional Champagne year. The blend consists mainly of Pinot Noir (61%) and Chardonnay (39%), sourced from Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards. The wine ages for more than six years on the lees in Bollinger's cellars, giving it exceptional depth and complexity. The Champagne has a golden colour with a fine, persistent mousse. On the nose it presents an impressive aromatic palette of ripe peach, roasted hazelnuts, honey and brioche, complemented by subtle notes of white flowers and spice. On the palate this vintage offers a rich, layered texture with a perfect balance between power and refinement. The flavour is marked by notes of ripe stone fruit, citrus, almond and a touch of saline minerality. The lively acidity and refined mousse create an elegant structure, while the finish remains long and harmonious with subtle notes of roasted nuts and spice.
Perfect with refined dishes such as lobster, scallops, poultry with truffle or aged cheeses.
