Monte dei Cocci Primitivo 2024 from Tenute Girolamo is a 100% Primitivo from the Valle d'Itria, the elevated hill country in the heart of Puglia. The vineyards lie on limestone soils mixed with red earth. In the glass the wine shows a bright, deep red colour with purple reflections. The nose is complex and seductive, with berries, spicy notes and a delicate floral touch.
After gentle maceration and fermentation in steel, the wine matures for six months in French oak barrels and three months in bottle. On the palate it is full and velvety, with a distinct yet rounded tannic structure. Its natural softness makes it especially easy to drink, while the ripe fruit and spice provide character. The finish is warm, juicy and firm.
Excellent with Mediterranean meat dishes such as roasts, stews and a mixed grill.
