The Auxerrois 2023 from Wijngaard Apostelhoeve is an elegant white wine from the hills around Maastricht. Made from the Auxerrois grape, which is related to Pinot Blanc, this wine is known for its fruity and aromatic character. In the glass it shows a pale yellow colour and a subtle floral nose with notes of apple, pear and a hint of citrus. On the palate the wine shows a fine balance between ripe fruit and soft acidity, giving a fresh yet full flavour. The finish is smooth and elegant, with a light minerality that points to the limestone-rich terroir of South Limburg. This Auxerrois is perfect for drinking young and is an excellent companion to local specialities such as asparagus, light fish dishes or salads.
