Description:

The Cuvée St. Pieter Brut 2022 from the Apostelhoeve is a beautiful expression of the Limburg terroir, made according to the méthode traditionnelle. The wine sparkles in the glass with a pale yellow colour and a fine, lively mousse that invites you to taste straight away. On the nose, a refined bouquet unfolds of fresh citrus aromas, green apple and juicy peach, subtly supported by delicate notes of brioche, hazelnut and a touch of wet stone, which comes from the marl-rich soil on which the grapes grow. On the palate, the elegance of this sparkling wine comes fully into its own. The lively acidity provides an invigorating freshness, perfectly balanced with the ripe fruit notes and the light creaminess that results from long bottle ageing. The mousse is silky smooth and contributes to the wine’s refined structure, while a distinct minerality brings tension and depth. The finish is long and pure, with refreshing hints of citrus zest and a subtle touch of freshly baked bread that lingers for a long time. This Cuvée St. Pieter Brut not only shows the class of the Apostelhoeve, but also proves that sparkling wines from the Netherlands can compete at international level.

Food pairing:

Perfect with oysters, sushi, light salads and as an aperitif.
