Description:

Pol Roger Brut Réserve is the flagship of the house of Pol Roger and embodies the essence of its style and craftsmanship. This non-vintage Champagne is made from equal parts Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay, carefully selected from around 30 different crus in the Champagne region. Around 25% reserve wines are added to give the blend consistency and depth. The Pinot Noir contributes structure and power, while the Pinot Meunier brings freshness and fruity notes. The Chardonnay adds finesse and elegance to the whole. After blending, the wine undergoes its second fermentation in Pol Roger's coolest cellars, 33 metres below ground, resulting in a particularly fine and persistent mousse. Ageing on the lees lasts at least four years, adding to the complexity and maturity of the Champagne. When poured, the Brut Réserve shows a beautiful golden-yellow colour with a lively sparkle. The nose is expressive and layered, opening with aromas of juicy pear and exotic mango. These fruity notes are complemented by floral hints of honeysuckle and white jasmine, followed by subtle nuances of vanilla and freshly baked brioche from the extended ageing on the lees. On the palate the Champagne offers a lively, fresh attack, followed by a harmonious and well-balanced taste experience. The fine mousse creates a creamy texture, while the underlying acidity gives the wine an invigorating freshness. The flavour evolves towards notes of ripe white fruit, citrus and a delicate minerality, which together lead to a long, elegant and refined finish. Pol Roger Brut Réserve is a versatile Champagne that can be enjoyed both as an aperitif and with a meal. Its balance and complexity make it an excellent choice for a wide range of occasions and food pairings.

Food pairing:

Excellent as an aperitif, but also a perfect match for seafood such as oysters and scallops, light fish dishes, poultry and soft cheeses such as Brie and Camembert.
