The Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2024 from Prosper Maufoux is an approachable, classic red Burgundy, made from Pinot Noir from various parts of the region. The wine is partly aged in oak, which gives a subtle oak touch and extra complexity without overpowering the fruit. In the glass, a bright ruby red colour. The nose is seductive, with small dark fruits such as blackberry and black cherry, complemented by spicy notes of pepper and nutmeg.
On the palate the wine is soft and elegant, with a light to medium body and the emphasis on juicy fruit. The tannins are ripe and supple, while a fresh acidity provides balance and liveliness. A fine oak note adds structure. The finish is fresh, fruity and pure. A Pinot Noir that shows the character of Burgundy beautifully and is already very drinkable young.
Lovely with charcuterie and pâté, roast poultry, an entrecôte or soft cheeses such as Brie and Camembert.
