Scala Dei Pla dels Àngels 2022 Rosado is an outstanding expression of the Garnacha Tinta grape, from the prestigious Priorat region in Catalonia, Spain. This rosé is produced by Cellers de Scala Dei, a historic winery known for its dedication to quality and tradition. The grapes for this wine come from high-altitude vineyards, situated between 500 and 600 metres above sea level, on clay-rich soils. These soils help preserve the freshness and acidity of the grapes, contributing to the lively and fresh character of the wine . On arrival at the cellar, the grapes are chilled to 2°C, then destemmed and macerated on the skins for three hours. This process gives the wine its characteristic pale pink colour. After maceration, the juice is pressed and fermented like a white wine, resulting in a fresh and aromatic rosé . In the glass, the wine shows a pale, almost salmon-pink hue. The bouquet is subtle and refined, with aromas of red fruit such as strawberry and raspberry, complemented by hints of citrus fruit that underline its freshness. On the palate, the wine is elegant and well balanced, with lively acidity and mineral notes typical of the Priorat terroir. The finish is long and refreshing, making it an excellent choice for warm summer days.
