Château Lafon-Rochet

Château Lafon-Rochet

Château Lafon-Rochet is a Fourth Growth (4e Grand Cru Classé) in the famous 1855 classification and has a long history dating back to the 17th century. Located in Saint-Estèphe, one of the most prestigious appellations of the Médoc, the château is known for its classic Bordeaux style, with powerful structure and exceptional ageing potential.

The vineyards, on a mix of gravel and clay soils, cover 45 hectares and are ideal for growing Cabernet Sauvignon, which forms the backbone of the wine. Winemaking combines traditional techniques with modern innovations, including ageing in French oak barrels (60% new oak) for 16 to 18 months.

2016 is considered an exceptional vintage in Bordeaux, with perfect weather conditions producing a wine of balance, depth and ageing potential up to 2040 and beyond.
