Château Rieussec
Château Rieussec
Château Rieussec is one of the most famous estates in Sauternes, located next to the legendary Château d'Yquem. The estate has a long history dating back to the 18th century and is renowned for its exceptional sweet wines, made from grapes affected by noble rot (Botrytis cinerea), which gives them their intense concentration and complexity.
The vineyards of Château Rieussec cover around 90 hectares and lie on the perfect mix of gravel, clay and limestone soils, ideal for creating top-quality Sauternes. The wines are carefully aged in oak to develop additional depth and complexity.
Carmes de Rieussec 2020 is the château's second wine and offers an approachable, refined and expressive interpretation of the famous Sauternes style.
